Our purpose

Why We Publish These Challenges

Because working something out properly — one clue, one cross, one certain step at a time — is satisfying in its own right.

VorkadScandiPuzzl is a small, independent publication for adults who want a short, focused reasoning break in their day. We publish number grids, word logic, visual sequences and deduction puzzles, each paired with a rule set written in plain English and a walkthrough you can open at any moment.

We think the reward is the reasoning itself, not a score at the end of it.

How a puzzle is made

  1. A setter drafts the puzzle and writes the intended solving path before anything else.
  2. A second person solves it cold, noting any moment where they had to guess or felt unsure.
  3. For grids, we confirm by exhaustive check that exactly one solution exists.
  4. We write the difficulty description from the tester's notes, in words rather than numbers.
  5. The walkthrough is written last, including the most likely wrong turn.

What we do not claim

We do not promise improved IQ, better memory, protection against cognitive decline or any other health outcome. Puzzles are an enjoyable activity; we present them as that and nothing more. If you have health concerns, a qualified professional is the right person to ask.

Our influences

We owe a great deal to the puzzle writers who showed that logic can be playful: Lewis Carroll, Martin Gardner, Raymond Smullyan, and the editors at Nikoli and Dell who brought number placement to millions. We are not affiliated with any of them or their publishers.
